Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Noah's Arc

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in sponsoring meals and donating preemie items for our Noah's Arc Neonatal Intensive Care Unit support group for parents.

Preemie Items

  • onesies

  • pacifiers

  • lotion, body wash, shampoo

  • developmental toys

  • burp cloths

  • bottles

  • bibs

  • hand sanitizer

  • word game books (crosswords, sudoku)

Our program gives these families a place to go during the nurse shift change and not only have access to the information that we provide and have a good meal but, it also gives them time to talk with other parents that are going through similar situations, providing a level of much needed support and friendship. For this program please contact Lauren Borchert at (704) 332-4535 ext. 102 for more information.

Aktion Club

The Aktion Club program is a group for self-advocates that meet once a month and focus on volunteer projects, education workshops, and social outings. We have 3 clubs in the Charlotte area. If you are interested in volunteering your time, sponsoring a meeting, or working one on one with an adult with a developmental disability please contact Steve McIllwain at (704) 332-4535 ext. 106.

Operation Santa Claus
We NEED volunteers to help with our Operation Santa Claus project. Operation Santa Claus works with children and adults with developmental disabilities by providing them with a holiday by purchasing items they need and want form their wish list. Every year we need volunteers to adopt individuals and purchase and wrap items from their list. We also need volunteer shoppers to help us in purchasing and wrapping items from the wish lists of our participants. Please contact Lauren Borchert at 704-332-4535 ext. 102 if you would like to sign up.

Bilingual Volunteer
We have a great need for a bilingual volunteer to help us translate our informational and promotional materials. The translation of our materials are important to our efforts in reaching out to the Hispanic population, working to ensure they have the services and assistance they need. Please contact Lauren Borchert at 704-332-4535 ext. 102 if you are available to help us translate our materials and keep them updated.
